TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

SFE OVAL BLUE BACK.png

Through these amazing friends and mentors, I have defined my approach and offer tutorage and training in the following areas for individuals seeking to advance their connection and relationship between horse and rider:

  • Combined Training: Dressage, Show Jumping, and Cross Country

  • Cross Training: Dressage for the Jump Horse

  • Cavaletti Training

  • Biomechanics of Horse and Rider

  • Groundwork

  • Horsemanship

I focus on the biomechanics of horse and rider, developing a partnership with the basic principles of riding in all disciplines. When combined these essentials can produce some really magical results from the novice rider through to intermediate, and on to advanced.

I take great pleasure in coaching all levels of riders from the total beginner to the novice adult amateur, to the competition rider, in all disciplines. I have great passion in channeling my foundation to all riders to help them reach their goals. I really stress the sports psychology approach to my students as riding is not only a physical sport but one of the mind that riders need to aspire to reach their goals. These goals can be as simple as to mounting the horse for the first time, the first canter, first cross rail, dressage test, and having the confidence to ride outside of the arena.

I specialize in Cross Training and believe that this base is paramount in the jumping discipline. I believe the basics for good jump training and for jump horses is to have a solid dressage and flat work foundation.

The welfare of the horse always comes first, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of good horsemanship to my students.

Whether one-to-one training sessions, group lessons, or lectures, I would be delighted to support you, or your existing program, or maybe even set-up a clinic day or two.

I look forward to the opportunity of working with you and advancing the future of your equestrian journey.

Let me know how I can help.
